WUFI® User (1D) Online
60 CPD points (NZRAB). You will be provided with competency in one dimensional hygrothermal modelling of building elements such as walls, roofs and floors using WUFI® Pro. Participants will become able to set up and run a WUFI® 1D simulation of a building element. They will also become able to interpret and present the results of the simulation.
Description
Hygrothermal modelling is the analysis of heat flow and moisture flow at the same time. It’s an incredibly useful tool for helping to predict the risk of moisture problems in building elements during the design stage.
There will be a growing demand for this type of analysis in New Zealand. Take this opportunity to start offering WUFI®; modelling for design assurance.

Content
This course provides competency in one-dimensional hygrothermal modelling of building elements such as walls, roofs and floors using WUFI® Pro. The course is suitable for practitioners wishing to offer WUFI® 1D modelling services. By the end of this session the attendee will be able to:
- Build models for specific purposes in WUFI® Pro 1D
- Interpret the results and describe all WUFI® Pro 1D input and output parameters and the sensitivity of these
- Modify detailed material properties
- Adapt material libraries
- Model ventilation sources in cavities
- Model moisture sources
- Model heat sources
- Model rainwater leaks into construction systems
- Model shading features on roofs
- Set up models specifically to analyse condensation risk, mould growth, corrosion, timber rot in sheathing materials and the effects of air transported water vapour
- Interpret and present detailed simulation results for specific purposes
Prerequisites
WUFI® Fundamentals (1D)
Special Requirements
Please download and review the system requirements for your PC set up will be sent following registration.
We will schedule a one-on-one, 20-minute session prior to the training to ensure you have your system set up ready for the course. If you attend a one-on-one session prior to attending the Fundamentals course before this User course, you do not need to schedule a second set up session.
